The object of the study is car tourism. The purpose of the work is to analyze the problems and prospects of the development of car tourism in Russian Federation (on the example of Primorsky Krai). In order to achieve the designated goal, the necessary tasks were specified. The basis of the study was centered around the systematization of the conceptual apparatus of car tourism at the regulatory and academic level. At the same time, in the course of the work, the factors determining the development of car tourism were identified. The competitiveness of the current supply of car tours to Primorsky Krai at the federal level was analyzed. The theoretical part of the study was based on the use of such methods of scientific cognition as the method of system analysis, the method of comparison, the method of induction and deduction, also in the course of the study methods of classification, abstraction, concretization were used. The practical significance of the work is determined by the systematization and actualization of theoretical approaches to the study of car tourism as
one of the most important direction of socio-economic activity in modern conditions.
